Lifeforce Productions At The Golden Owls
Leeds' Annual event celebrating the achievements of the young film-makers now in its second year. Pete Cuffe, 3D Video Artist and Video Tutor for Lifeforce Productions was the Video Tutor on all 3 nominations for the Golden Owl Award for the Community Groups Under 11's.
'Tablet Trouble', a secret agent story, was Chiva's entry and The Golden Owl winner. Representatives from Chiva met Lifeforce Productions at the golden owl's launch event in 2012 and after booking Pete and Lifeforce equipment for a number of sessions, went on to win their category.
The other nominations i the same category were 'Carrot and Broccoli', a vegetable's first day at a new school, and 'Jukebox Baby', a time-travel tale, both made as part of the free-to-attend ICEPOPs Summer Media Programme.
The ICEPOPs Summer Programe is delivered by various tuors from Lifeforce Productions where young people can participate in Break-Dancing, DJ-ing, Music-Making, Graffiti Art as well as Video-making skills, at various Community centres around the city, which will be repeated again in 2013.
As a Video Tutor with Lifeforce Productions, Pete has a video product shown at the Leeds International Young people's Film Festival 2013 and two 3D video products in competition at the internationally acclaimed Dimension 3 Festival, Paris 2012.
As a Lifeforce Productions video tutor, Pete works with various groups of young people in sessional work, out of school media activies provision and afterschool Media Skills Clubs.
In recent activities with Lifeforce Productions, Pete has been working with hard to reach young people to make videos using mobile phones and teaching groups of video-makers how to make 3D Videos,
both activities delivered as part 1 & 2 of the Postcode Project, a partnership between Lifeforce Productions and 'Leeds Inspired' for Leeds City Council.
Pete Has also made 'Leeds Streetz' (2013), a video summary for a project undertaken for the Home Office by 'Speak to the Streets' and Lifeforce Productions.
